TV Ears Bluetooth Neckloop
This handy accessory gives you adjustable amplification up to 30 dB and reduces or eliminates interference between the cell phones and hearing aid processors. It also features a built in microphone for hands-free conversation.

Television in the 1960s and 1970s was safe for all ages. Dad would get home from work, we’d eat mom’s home-cooked meal as a family, and then we’d pile in front of the TV set to watch what had become everyone’s favorite – The Andy Griffith Show. Most people would agree that the show wasn’t the same after Don Knotts (Barney) left, but it didn’t change our level of dedication to this classic television programming.

Sitcoms weren’t the only medium that graced our TV screen back in the 60s and 70s. Dramas, game shows, and even soap operas were becoming hugely popular. A recent post on Squidoo.com remembers the gameshow Password:

Password was a fun show from the 60s, which featured many celebrities who were popular at the time. (Host Allen Ludden) was married to Betty White, who became very well known first on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and later on Golden Girls. They were very happily married until Allens’ death.

Today, it is ironic to think that Betty White (who turned 90 in January), first became well known on one of the first shows ever to have a single successful woman as the lead character. Perhaps some of her continued enthusiasm and dedicated work ethic is a result of her roots in The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

He was funny, entertaining, and an icon from the era of Made-for-TV mega-stars. Created in the image of The Beatles, The Monkees came into our homes and in spite of ourselves, made us laugh. Of the four, Davy Jones was the most endearing…

In all of the Monkees songs that the public was assaulted with, we heard Davy Jones’ voice making us realize that we didn’t need a lot to be happy, and that a person believing in a dream could also have a shot at the homecoming queen:

“Oh, and our good times start and end, Without dollar one to spend, But how much, baby, do we really need?

“Cheer up, Sleepy Jean, Oh what can it mean, to a Daydream Believer, and a Homecoming Queen?”

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Davy Jones…

We love holding sweepstakes to give away TV Ears products. Over the past 2 years, we’ve given away several products, including several TV Ears Wireless Headset Systems, TV Ears TVs, and TV Ears Wireless Speakers.

Our customers are always thrilled with TV Ears technology, and whether they enter our sweepstakes to win a product for themselves or a loved one, the result is always positive! Our last sweepstakes was for a TV Ears Digital, and our winner, Sheila Branyon, was kind enough to share her excitement with us:

“Thank you so much ,I am thrilled! I have been wanting some of these ever since someone bought my dad some so he could hear the tv. He just turned 80 this week and is a little hard of hearing. My son works swing shifts so for 2 weeks every month I have to keep the tv low so I dont wake him up.These will be so awesome because I will actually be able to hear the tv without fear of waking up the grouch! Doing the happy dance in SC.”

Sheila’s happy dance is a great reminder that TV Ears technology is not only for those with hearing loss, but for anyone who wants to listen to the television without disturbing others. Thank you, Sheila, and congratulations on your win!

Neil Diamond, (born Neil Leslie Diamond on January 24, 1941), is best known for his eight number one hit singles, including “Cracklin Rosie”, “Song Sung Blue”, “Desiree”, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers”, “Love On The Rocks”, “America”, “Yesterday’s Songs”, and “Heartlight”. Although he spent his early career as a songwriter in the Brill Building, it was his deal with Bert Berne’s Bang Records in 1966 that enabled his first hit, “Solitary Man”, to soar.

Over the next eleven years, Diamond proved to be not only a talented songwriter, but an energetic performer and talented showman. He continued to play for audiences in sold-out concerts and even won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture.

On this day in history, (February 21, 1977), Neil Diamond fans remember when his in-concert TV special aired on NBC. To watch six of his classic hits played in that concert, check out the video below!

Valentine’s Day is a day to share with the one you love – whether it be your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or simply your own personal box of chocolates. There are couples who say that “every day is Valentine’s Day” and that they don’t need a token to remind them of how much they’re loved. To them, we say…What if we just gave you something anyway?

In the show, children Betty, Bud, and Kathy know they can always turn to their father, Jim Anderson, for advice, because father knows best. While you may be familiar with the show, which ran from 1954-1960, you may be surprised to learn some of the following trivia facts:

The show began on radio in 1949 and was adapted for TV in 1954. After a 6-year run, CBS and ABC ran reruns through 1967.

Series star Lauren Chapin said she found out the show was canceled for good when she reported to work and the guard would not let her into the studio.

The show took place in the town of Springfield, and although the state was never specified, the town of Altoona (an actual city in Pennsylvania) was often mentioned.

Father ‘Jim Anderson’ was ranked #6 in TV Guide’s list of the “50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time” (20 June 2004 issue).

In the original radio show, Jim Anderson was portrayed as a clumsy, but in the TV show his character was much wiser.

Ellen Drew played the mother (Margaret Anderson) in the pilot but was replaced in the series by Jane Wyatt.

Mother ‘Margaret Anderson’ was played in the radio version of “Father Knows Best” by June Whitley Taylor and later by Jean Vander Pyl.

When Father Knows Best first aired on radio, it was sponsored by Maxwell House.

Robert Young was the only member of the radio cast to make the transition to the TV sitcom adaptation.

A re-run of Father Knows Best was interrupted when New Yorker’s first viewed the news on WABC-TV that John F. Kennedy had been assassinated.
